NICHD-Supported Networks and Studies
- Adolescent Medicine Trials Network for HIV/AIDS Interventions
A network of researchers who conduct research on methods to improve the health and well-being of young people living with or at risk for HIV. This includes studies of medicines and strategies to prevent and treat HIV, among other related topics. - NICHD Domestic and International Pediatric and Maternal HIV and Other High-Priority Infectious Diseases Clinical Studies Network
This group conducts domestic and international clinical trials of treatment for HIV and associated co-infections, as well as complications of HIV and its treatment in pregnant women, infants, children, and adolescents, and prevention of perinatal HIV transmission. - International Epidemiologic Databases to Evaluate AIDS (IeDEA)
This international research consortium is formed by regional sites that are collecting and defining key variables, harmonizing data, and implementing methodology. The large data-sets that they create are used to address high-priority research questions and streamline HIV/AIDS research. NICHD funds the pediatric component of IeDEA. - International Maternal, Pediatric, Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials (IMPAACT) Network

A network that conducts clinical trials on microbicides that may prevent sexual transmission of HIV. The MTN collaborates with the Adolescent Trials Network for HIV/AIDS Interventions to conduct microbicide trials in adolescents, and it works with NICHD to develop trials in pregnant women. - National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health (Add Health, formerly the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health)
