Training at NICHD

Training is an integral part of the NICHD intramural program. A dedicated group of investigators and staff maintain programs designed to enrich the learning experience of all trainees.

Training in the Division of Intramural Research (DIR)

NICHD’s DIR conducts research to seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems through basic, clinical, and population-based research. DIR training programs span academic, scientific, and personal development of intramural scientists, fellows, and students at all levels of training.

Training in Division of Population Health Research (DiPHR)

DiPHR designs research initiatives that respond to critical data gaps to advance the understanding of factors affecting human health. The DiPHR training program includes awards and programs for summer interns, as well as postbaccalaureate, predoctoral, and postdoctoral fellows.
