The NICHD's Office of Extramural Policy provides guidance and interpretation of NIH policies related to extramural research grant administration; coordinates the development, publication and implementation of new programs and initiatives; plans and coordinates council actions related to second-level review of grant applications, appeals, concept clearance, and other special council actions; and coordinates requests for "large grants" and conference grants as needed.

The NICHD's Grants Management Branch provides guidance and answers to questions related to funded grants and projects and their progress reports. Find a contact in the Grants Management Branch.

The NICHD's Scientific Review Branch (SRB) is responsible for a broad range of functions related to the review of grant applications for research and training.
