Zeiss Axioscan Z1

Zeiss Axioscan Z1

The Zeiss Axioscan Z1 is a fully automated slide scanner for visible and fluorescence-labelled samples. It accepts up to 100 regular 1x3” slides, up to 50 large 2x3” slides, or 25 3x4” slides. Once properly configured, the system automatically loads slides, finds the tissue edges, focus and acquires large tiled images in transmission or wide-field fluorescence. Because the steps normally performed by a human (focusing, finding tissue edges) are automated, the Axioscan is difficult to configure properly. For this reason, end users are instructed to leave their slides with the MIC staff who will scan them at no cost and no additional commitment. Contact Dr. Schram for details.
