Medical Officer
Marion Koso-Thomas, M.D., is a board-certified pediatrician who joined NICHD in 2008 and is a key member of the Global Network for Women's and Children's Health Research team responsible for extramural research activities, including oversight of scientific integrity, monitoring of performance and safety, and implementation of protocols. She is also the program official for the Pregnancy and Perinatology Branch, overseeing a broad range of neonatal and pediatric grants. Dr. Koso-Thomas serves as an expert on topics related to maternal and child health in resource-poor settings, particularly with respect to sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Latin America. She currently serves as the scientific advisor for the NICHD's Safe to Sleep(R) initiative, among other roles in the institute related to dissemination and implementation research, household air pollution, and patient safety.
