Overview
The LD Hubs, initiated in 2012, aim to address the causes, symptoms, and treatments of learning disabilities that impact reading, writing, and mathematics. The hubs focus on understudied research areas relevant to individuals diagnosed with or at-risk for these learning disabilities. Projects also include career-enhancing opportunities for researchers who are in the early stages of their careers with a particular focus on individuals from underrepresented groups in science.
The LD Hubs complement NICHD's Learning Disabilities Research Centers’ efforts on learning disabilities by emphasizing higher risk and understudied research topics and populations. The hubs are funded through NICHD’s Child Development and Behavior Branch (CDBB).
