Biosketch
Jeffrey Kroopnick, M.D., joined NICHD in 2022 as a medical officer and investigator for the Contraceptive Clinical Trials Network, which is managed through the Contraceptive Development Program in NICHD’s intramural research program. Prior to this post, Dr. Kroopnick was an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and then later at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He also held an appointment at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Kroopnick earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, then completed a residency in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. He completed his fellowship training in endocrinology at the University of Pennsylvania and is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he graduated summa cum laude and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He has had numerous educational and academic responsibilities and has received multiple clinical, teaching, and mentoring awards. He is also an active member of the Endocrine Society.
