Health Science Administrator
Abisola (Abi) Tepede, Pharm.D., R.Ph., P.M.P., is a clinical research pharmacist who joined NICHD’s Division of Extramural Research as a health science administrator in 2022. In her role, she assists in overseeing the institute’s Clinical Research Networks, works on various pediatric COVID-19 activities, and serves as a clinical research resource for NICHD staff and the extramural community.
Prior to joining NICHD, Dr. Tepede led multidisciplinary study teams in the pharmaceutical industry that managed large-scale global clinical trials in various therapeutic areas, including pediatric and maternal respiratory disease, oncology, infectious disease, and cardiovascular disease. She remains involved in capability building for clinical trials in low- and middle-income countries and clinical trial diversity initiatives. She also continues to practice as a clinical pharmacist in hospital settings during her off-time.
Dr. Tepede completed her doctor of pharmacy degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She subsequently received a postdoctoral clinical development fellowship and adjunct faculty position at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, where she received her master’s degree in regulatory affairs and health policy. Dr. Tepede also was an NIH Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award fellow at the National Cancer Institute. She has project management certification from the Project Management Institute.
