Cerebral palsy (CP) is associated with preterm birth and low birth weight infants. Through intramural and extramural research programs, the NIH supports and conducts a broad range of research on CP. This portfolio includes research on the causes and mechanisms of CP, associated conditions, impact of prenatal and perinatal support, and rehabilitation and treatment.

The NIH is working on a trans-NIH framework for CP research. This workshop brings together experts on CP and related conditions to identify key research gaps, promote interdisciplinary scientific collaboration, a

nd advance current research in the field.
