NICHD Health Equity Seminar Series: Jackson Heart Study Kids (JHS Kids): Lessons Learned Engaging Children and Families

Purpose:

Jackson Heart Study Kids (JHS Kids) is a feasibility study that intends to enroll children and grandchildren of participants who took part or are taking part in the JHS, the largest study of heart disease risk factors among African Americans in Jackson, Mississippi. Investigators seek to identify early life risk factors (environmental and hereditary) for obesity and heart disease to inform the design of appropriate early intervention and prevention strategies. Speakers will share their experiences with engaging families in this effort.
