Sponsor(s)

North American Vascular Biology Organization (NAVBO) and the Division of Intramural Research (DIR), NICHD

Location

Asilomar Conference Grounds, Pacific Grove, Monterey, California

Purpose

The mechanisms regulating blood vessel growth, homeostasis, and regression are a subject of intense clinical interest for cancer and ischemia, but many of the insights leading to therapeutic targets have come from basic research. This is a meeting designed to promote a scientific dialogue at the intersection between developmental biology and vascular biology. It brings together many of the leading researchers studying the formation of the vascular system in a variety of different model organisms.
