Pregnancy Loss: NICHD Research Information

The NICHD conducts and sponsors research in pregnancy and its associated disorders. Through this work, the Institute aims to improve the health of mothers and their fetuses. Specifically, pregnancy-related research at the NICHD covers a variety of topics, including prenatal care, miscarriage and stillbirth, preeclampsia, endometriosis, and other maternal health issues that affect the success of pregnancy. The Institute also supports professional training and funding opportunities that enable the development of programs aimed at facilitating research in pregnancy and its associated disorders.
