Edwina Yeung, Ph.D., first joined the Epidemiology Branch in 2008 as a postdoctoral fellow and became a tenure-track investigator in 2011. Dr. Yeung earned her Master of Science and Doctoral degree in Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. Her general research interests have been in studying obesity and its metabolic consequences including gestational and type 2 diabetes. Dr. Yeung is currently focusing on investigations of the life-course determinants of cardio-metabolic risk, in particular in studies of the developmental origins of health and disease along with how epigenetics may play a role. Some early life factors that are of interest include the role of infertility treatment and pregnancy complications.
