The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and the Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are holding a conference/workshop on October 9 and 10, 2003 titled:
Vitamin D and Health in the 21st Century: Bone and Beyond

The conference/workshop is designed to provide a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences and for developing an effective and realistic research agenda.
Travel awards are available to encourage young scientists to participate in the Conference and Workshop.
Nominees for the travel awards may be students pursuing M.S. or Ph.D. degrees or a recent Ph.D. or M.D. engaged in postdoctoral research in the biological sciences.
A candidate for a Travel Award must be nominated by the current or immediate past mentor or a close senior colleague. The nomination includes a curriculum vita of the candidate with complete contact information (mailing address, daytime phone, fax number, email address), along with a letter of support from the nominating mentor/senior colleague.
Awardees will receive complimentary registration, a hotel room for the nights of October 8th and 9th, 2003 at the Bethesda Marriott and a travel stipend of $400 to help defray costs for attending the Conference/Workshop.
